“The staff use their excellent knowledge of the seven areas of learning to plan rich, varied, and imaginative experiences, which ignite children’s interests.” (Ofsted 2013)
The owner of Nursery on the Green is Kaye Wildman, she is the mother of two grown up daughters and has over 20 years experience. Kaye completed a BA Honours Degree in 2010 at Middlesex University in Early Childhood Studies and is supported on a day to day basis, by her dedicated area manager, Catherine Lynskey and her deputy manager Claire Crisell. The nursery has a dedicated and well qualified workforce who offer each child the opportunity to feel “happy, safe, loved and learning.”
We work in partnership with parents to help their child to learn and develop, we aim to support parents with flexible, high quality childcare and offer a service that promotes equality and values diversity. Parents need to feel safe in the knowledge that their child is receiving the love, care and attention that very young children need.
We provide a happy, play-based learning environment, we aim to help your child to grow in confidence, gain independence and develop their social skills, by communicating and sharing with others. Our planning and record keeping refers to the “revised” Early Years Foundation Stage and by close observation and continual assessment, we are able to help your child reach their full potential and prepare them for their future learning.
Parents often like the comfort and care of a home based environment, which larger nurseries cannot always provide – however we hope that we have got the balance right. By maintaining small numbers of children, we endeavour to always have that ‘personal touch’ and the highest of standards. Hand picking staff and providing continuous training, will ensure the best quality care and education for your child.
FOOD AND NUTRITION
“Staff ensure that children develop a robust understanding of the importance of leading healthy lifestyles through rigorous hygiene routines and nutritious, healthy, balanced meals and snacks.” (Ofsted 2013)
The nursery makes meals and snacks a social time at which adults and children eat together and learn basic table manners. We have our own cook, who plans the menus for snacks and meals so that the children are provided with a varied, well-balanced and nutritious diet with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables. Milk or water are also available and children are encouraged to drink regularly (see menu link for further information). To ensure consistency between home and nursery life, we offer useful, healthy and nutritious suggestions for parents/carers and the menu is displayed daily at nursery and on our website. We are able to cater for special diets and parents should inform us of any allergies or special dietary requirements, religious or otherwise. We offer vegetarian alternatives to every meal.
